The Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 66) has set up a summer system for the prevention and fight against forest fires.

It is recalled that causing a fire voluntarily is punishable by 10 years imprisonment and 150 000 euros fine. Causing a fire, even involuntarily, leaving for example a cigarette butt burning, is punishable by a penalty of 1 year in prison and 15 000 euros fine. These penalties may be increased depending on the human and material consequences of the fires.
